Learner Driver Car buying Guide

The purpose of this guide is to give learner drivers and new drivers an insight into what cars might be best as a first car. The cars listed here will usually be both suitable as a first time car, and also cheaper to insure than some other makes and models.

Nissan Micra

Models with engine sizes below 1.6 can qualify for cheaper car insurance.
Ford Ka
	The Ford Ka is practical yet economical to run and insure. Cheap and basic doesn't have to mean boring. The Ka is still one of the finest city cars on sale: great to drive and super-cheap to run. The Ka is still one of the finest super minis around. Amazing handling, high grip levels and a decent engine make for pure, uncomplicated fun.
Fiat Punto
	The Fiat Punto has power assited steering plus a city function for even lighter driving around tight corners. This is a perfect car for the new driver and is certainly at the top end of the 'first car' range. The fact is that it is so cheap to run - it sips the petrol every so often - and is extremely cheap to tax and for insurance.
